Independents Day – Monday 9th July

This years Independents Day meeting is to be held this year on Monday 9th July, at The National Motorcycle Museum in Birmingham. The theme is ‘Close Encounters of the Patient Kind’ and promises to offer a stimulating, interactive and thought-provoking day with a programme focussed on what our patients really think about who we are and what we do. This will be delivered by leading authorities in the subject, but more crucially by interactive sessions, with the patients themselves.

In addition to Independents Day, the popular networking dinner – Independents Night – held the evening before, is now a permanent fixture. Prices for attendance at Independents Day start from £99, with the Independents Night dinner, bed and breakfast package £115.

BCLA 2012 Clinical Conference & Exhibition

BIB is delighted to be participating at the 2012 British Contact Lens Association Clinical Conference & Exhibition at the ICC Birmingham 24th – 27th May.

The Annual BCLA Clinical Conference and Exhibition is arguably the world’s premier meeting for the contact lens and ophthalmic profession. Offering more than 50 CET points through a wide selection of lecutres and workshops, the event regularly attracts more than 1,000 registered delegates. the accompanying three day exhibition is the largest of it’s kind in the UK and is FREE to attend for delegates and non-delegates alike.

BIB can be found on the BCLA exhibition floor Stand No 20 from Friday 25thMay through to Sunday 27th May.

Optrafair 2011Competition Winner

OPTRAFAIR COMPETITION WINNER FINALLY RECEIVES LATEST TECHNOLOGY PRIZE

Eight months after posting his details in an Optrafair competition to win an Anyview Dispensing Tablet, competition winner Nicholas Bateman of John Harwood Optometrists in Woking finally received his prize this November.

When asked if it was worth the wait, Mr Bateman commented, “As Harwood’s are celebrating their first Centenary this year, I can think of nothing better than starting their second centenary by dispensing using the innovative Anypad. It can easily demonstrate a number of optical subjects at a level which the patients can understand as the Anypad is very user-friendly”.

Commenting on the delay Tim Baker CEO of BiB, the UK distributors, said, “There have been a number of innovative updates in technology & functionality since the prototypes were first exhibited at Optrafair and I felt it was only fair that the competition winner received the most up to date version”.

April 2012 Changes in Capital Allowance
